On the well I’m not sure what the date was but we had visitors from the Corangamite CMA which is a water saving company. It save animals like the Pigmy Perch which is a type of endangered fish that lives at I think 7 places in Australia, but they were talking about the Short Finned Eel. We learned a lot about the Short Finned Eel such as after it has its babies it blows up! We were told a story about how it mates and other thing like where it comes from but I forget. It was fun! :)

On Tuesday the 16th the whole middle unit had science night where we got to do science experiments with our mum or dad.
When we were in Mrs Makin’s classroom we had to write a secret message with Lemon, Potato, Bicarb of Soda and Cornflour.
INSTRUCTIONS:
First off we get an ear bud and got some of one of the things up the top. Next we lit a candle and ran the page over the fire which the adult should do. Next we looked to see if the message that we wrote came out. If you want to use all of the different things then you can.
THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR LITTLE KIDS WITHOUT PARENT SUPERVISION.

On the holidays I went to Melbourne for an drama exam. I got B+ and no crits, B+ is the highest score you can get in a preliminary exam. I had to do a mime, a poem and an extract. My mime was a Weightlifting mime. The poem was called Full Moon and the extract was from Berty and the Great Jellyland Bushfire.

Mr P messed up and he deleted the post that goes with this image. Pete fixed it up again.
I did Mr. P, but be a bit more careful next time. Anyway Middle P is getting more famous by the minute. We are on iTunes but all the other classes making podcasts have big light up signs, good gear and everything. So Mr P said, “Go and make an icon for us.” so I did. After an hour of work I had it, the answer to our bad icon trouble. I reckon it’s pretty good, why don’t you take a look for yourself.

For this term our new topic is Matter, in other words science. The things we learn about in this topic are, Atoms, Molecules, and the main things are Liquid, Gas, [not the type that is disturbing like the ones that come out of your body], Solids and Plasma. To tell you the truth we haven’t learnt much about plasma yet. But I think all of us think this will be a great term for science.

The Ashes is a very special match between Australia and England. The matches go for 5 days depending on the scores. It is probably the most fierce rivalry in cricket. The ‘Urn’ is the thing they call it. It is very small, probably about as big as Mr Pearce’s hand. It’s home is at the Oval in England. It has special writing over it. The reason they call it the Ashes is somewhere in the late 1800’s, England lost and the paper said “English Cricket died on this day in 1800 something. So thats where it’s name comes from. This year the Ashes will be held here in Australia. There are 5 test matches starting on November 23rd to the 27th starting in Brisbane. You can watch it on channel 9. Bring it on.

On the 17th of October the middle unit had a science night and had to bring along one family member to look after them for the hour and fifteen minutes they were there. In Mr. P’s room we got to make something on the activities cards you picked up, their were eight I think and a lot of people enjoyed it. In Mrs Makin’s room and Miss Kemp’s we got to test invisible inks. There were Lemons, Carb Soda, Milk and Potatoes. Once we had written something down you could light a candle, rub Iodine over it or Iron it. In Miss Cook’s room we messed around with food dye.
